Chapter 1717: Distribution

During this brief clash, both the Rank Five psychic and the Rank Five mobile suit pilot sustained injuries.

After all, they were ordinary Rank Five beings, unlike Sein, who possessed a world-class secret treasure.

The Rank Five psychic with pink hair wore an outfit made of chiffon. The thin fabric was now marred by numerous cuts, along with patches where enemy flesh had melted into it.

Two streaks of blood ran down her cheek, lending her a touch of heroic resolve while also giving her an air of fragility.

The physique of a Rosen Dynasty psychic was indeed delicate. As a ranged combat class, their defensive capabilities were comparable to those of mages from the Magus Civilization.

Participating directly in a battle involving a Rank Six existence posed a serious risk to a Rank Five Rosen Dynasty psychic.

More impressive still, she took the initiative to offer a respectful farewell to Sein and the others. The Rank Five mobile suit pilot was merely acting under her direction.

The Rosen Dynasty Civilization was a society dominated by psychics.

At the very least, Magus World maintained the appearance of balance, with formal rules stating that knights and mages held equal status within the Magus Civilization.

In contrast, within the Rosen Dynasty civilization, the laws clearly placed psychics above mobile suit pilots in status.

After all, their imperial house itself consisted entirely of psychics.

Tens of thousands of years ago, mobile suit designers and pilots had been little more than commoners.

Before a certain empress rose to power in the Rosen Dynasty’s history, the civilization had even been known as the

Psychic World

.

It was that visionary and strategically brilliant empress who granted rights to the newly emerging mobile suit designers and pilots, then renamed their world the

Rosen Dynasty Civilization

.

She was remembered as the greatest empress in the Rosen Dynasty’s history.

In the present day, Rosen Dynasty mobile suit pilots appeared to harbor no dissatisfaction with the existing order.

Most of them obeyed the commands of the psychics without complaint.

Psychic supremacy and imperial authority had long permeated every level of the Rosen Dynasty’s society.

What Sein tossed to the Rank Five psychic was one of the few remaining Amethyst Potions he still carried, along with several other fairly high-quality healing potions.

After Sein’s team finished off this Rank Six Apocalypse World creature, they would likely earn the right to withdraw to the rear for recuperation.

However, this newly arrived Rank Five psychic had to continue fighting, and she was injured.

Under such circumstances, these medical supplies held their greatest value in her hands.

What Sein tossed to the mobile suit pilot was a massive chunk of Energy Amethyst from his own reserve.

He was not completely sure it could be used for repairs, but since both the Burning Flame Unit and Fermera could utilize it, Rosen Dynasty mobile suits should have been able to as well.

Sein spoke not a single word on the battlefield, yet the Rosen Dynasty’s reinforcements immediately understood his actions and the intent behind them.

The Rank Five psychic caught Sein’s potions with a smile.

She trusted that Sein would not harm her.

Rather than drinking the more precious Amethyst Potion, she carefully stored it away, choosing instead to consume only one of the ordinary potions he had given her.

After nodding to Sein, the Rank Five psychic issued a sharp command through psychic force and then led the surrounding mobile suits and psychic legions to their next battlefield.

The Rank Five mobile suit pilot had been standing there in a daze when he received Energy Amethyst from Sein.

Whether because he had never seen such a thing before or for some other reason, he stared at the crystal in his hands for quite some time.

It was the Rank Five psychic’s call that finally snapped him out of his trance.

He quickly stowed the Energy Amethyst in the rear storage compartment of his mobile suit before departing.

Before leaving, the Rank Five mobile suit pilot gave Sein a slight nod, seemingly expressing his gratitude for the gift.

Although the Rosen Dynasty Civilization’s legions withdrew from the area, the God of Decay and its forces did not immediately leave the battlefield.

According to the Magus Alliance’s wartime regulations, since this sector fell under the Decaying World’s jurisdiction, they were entitled to at least sixty percent of the final spoils.

The remaining forty percent would naturally be turned over to the Magus Alliance.

Under extremely rare circumstances, certain alliance planes were permitted to claim all spoils from a battlefield.

This served as one of the ways the Magus Civilization incentivized the combat initiative and morale of legions from alliance planes.

As one of the primary forces involved in slaying the Rank Six Apocalypse World creature, the God of Decay before Sein fully deserved at least one-third of the spoils from this prey.

Although the God of Decay displayed an attitude of quiet diligence and showed no obvious greed for spoils, Sein still took the initiative to address it.

“This Rank Six creature specimen is crucial to me, but I’ll never take your share. Once the battle concludes, I’ll contact you to settle the distribution. For anything I truly can’t give up, I’ll provide compensation in magicoins or other suitable resources,” he promised.

Sein’s earnest words clearly moved the God of Decay.

In a deep, nervous voice, it replied, “No... no need... It’s fine. I only need a bit of decaying essence to absorb.”

“That won’t do. What’s yours is yours. Every knight and mage here is a staunch defender of the Magus Alliance’s rules. We would never undermine the legitimate interests of any member,” Sein replied firmly.

With curiosity in his voice, he continued, “By the way, what is this

decaying essence

you mentioned?”

The God of Decay clearly found it difficult to converse with humans and struggled for a moment to put its meaning into words.

After a brief stammer, it chose action over explanation.

A tentacle-like appendage extended from its body and reached toward the Rank Six Apocalypse World creature’s corpse.

Whatever that appendage did, a steady stream of gray mist and decaying energy began to rise from the corpse, flowing into the appendage before being absorbed into the God of Decay’s body.

“You can actually increase your divine power this way?” Sein asked, startled. “By absorbing the decaying energy of fallen beings?”

“So the stronger the deceased, the more corrupted and decaying energy they carry—and these help to make you more powerful?” he pressed.

The God of Decay stared at Sein for a long moment before finally replying, “Y-yes...”
