Chapter 1759: Farewell (II)

Fog Mountain had sought more freedom in walking out of Skycloud and casting off his restraints. But with the chaos being in such an uproar these days, it seemed better to stay at Skyward.

He wasn’t inclined to join New Martial in Li Hao’s absence. Life as someone else’s subordinate was only a matter of time if he did that.

Then... where should I go?

New Martial was in Blazing Sun Region, Li Hao was heading to Dragon Region, Red Moon Region was completely desolate and deserted now, and Skycloud wanted to kill him in Skyward Region...

Fog Mountain suddenly didn’t know what to do with himself, yet he quickly set it aside.

Didn’t I leave Skycloud in pursuit of a carefree life? Li Hao and his people haven’t placed new ties on me. Old debts and favors have been paid off. All is well with these farewells.

Meanwhile, Li Hao looked at the nearby Panther; the dog had swallowed Silver Moon. Imitating the Ash Emperor and being wholly unaffected from swallowing a world was beyond its reach. At present, its body had swelled considerably to several hundred meters long.

It was a massive being in the eyes of many, but not that conspicuous in the chaos.

The young man lifted his head to look at Skyward once more.

“Seniors, all good things must come to an end.” Li Hao rose to his feet. “We come and go in the martial world that is the chaos! I look forward to our next meeting. Today, I set off on my way!”

“Take care!”

“Be careful out there!” said the four exalted emperors.

The Orchid Forest master was soon to return to his world as well. Orchid Forest major world was now a seventh rank world. Although it’d been hidden, those who came searching for it might find it still. Even if Li Hao didn’t leave at this juncture, he would have taken his leave soon as well.

Li Hao said nothing else. A few others appeared by his side—Panther and Void. The rest had returned to Silver Moon and were currently in Panther’s stomach.

He walked out of the world gate and waved a hand, his back to the major world. That was his farewell.

There was no sense of time in the chaos. Although everyone was very strong, that didn’t count for much in the chaos. They were neither the overlords of a faction nor even local tyrants. The true tyrants of the chaos were those eighth ranks.

The Human King might count as one, but the rest of them didn’t. They were all just eking out survival.

This was also just the four regions—one portion of the chaos. These regions weren’t the chaos in its entirety. No one could say how large the chaos was. The Sword Sovereign and others had only passed through Skyward and Red Moon Region over the years. Very few powerhouses ever made it out of the four regions.

Even these eighth ranks operated only within four regions. They never seemed to have considered expanding in other directions. They kept their eyes trained on the four regions and fought for supremacy within. This area seemed to be the limits of their world.

......

Li Hao was gone, leaving only four people inside the massive world.

“Gentlemen, are you interested in allying with New Martial?” the Sword Sovereign asked the two remaining.

Fog Mountain was a peak seventh rank and a free agent. It would be very easy for him to join New Martial. And while it would be a bit more of a hassle for the Orchid Forest master to move his world to join New Martial, that wouldn’t be too much trouble either so long as they properly hid his world.

It would be nice to recruit both of these people.

New Martial was not in the habit of creating allies, but the Human King had already met both of them. He’d wanted to save Fog Mountain and stood guard for Orchid Forest master. That indicated they met his approval; Li Hao’s eye for character was good.

The Human King had a good opinion of these two.

“That’s alright,” Fog Mountain shook his head. “Since little friend Li Hao has left, I’ll hold down the fort here for a few days before leaving myself!”

He looked in another direction, at where Skycloud was located.

“I’ve been running to and fro on Skycloud’s behalf all these years,” he said softly after a while. “I’ve yet to visit all of the four regions in the great chaos. Perhaps I’ll take a look around and come back when the Skyward dao universe opens again.”

“I’m going back to Orchid Forest!” The Orchid Forest master also declined the Sword Sovereign’s olive branch. “New exalted emperors have joined my world, it has also expanded from recent activity. I have yet to go back for a look after all that. A portion of people have also died in battle, I need to take care of all of that.”

“Then let’s hold down the fort here for ten days!” The Sword Sovereign nodded, not pressing them further. “With Li Hao’s speed, he should be clear of Skyward Region after ten days. It’ll be hard to find him then.”

Not to mention, other people in the world might not be willing to waste time to search for the young man. He wasn’t a fatal threat in their eyes.

The group nodded in unison.

“Are you coming back?” The Sword Sovereign transmitted to Li Zhu. A calm expression remained on the latter’s face; he didn’t respond.

It’d been many years since Li Zhu left New Martial. After the world emerged in the chaos, he stayed another few decades before leaving. Li Zhu constantly roamed throughout the chaos for the purpose of setting foot into seventh rank.

Today, he’d achieved his heart’s desire and officially entered that cultivation level. Would he now return home?

New Martial faced grave danger these days. All of its targets and nearly all of its heavyweights had been exposed. Heavyweights from all four regions had their eyes set on New Martial...

“I won’t go back, but I’ll go to Blazing Sun Region!” Li Zhu transmitted after some thought. The Sword Sovereign didn’t protest.

Whatever you want.

Although the seventh rank Li Zhu wouldn’t be convening with New Martial in Blazing Sun Region, he wouldn’t idly sit by either. His dao of hiding was extremely formidable and could conceal his movements.

A seventh rank in hiding might be even more useful than openly marching under New Martial’s banners.

......

Due to the four seventh ranks being present and not much time elapsing since Li Hao seizing Skyward, none of the exalted emperors left outside Skyward paid attention to anything happening.

All of the high ranks were gone. Who would continue to linger after obtaining a dao star? Without high ranks present, it was too difficult for the rest to discover Li Hao’s whereabouts.

The young man departed Skyward, pausing to take a look back at the major world hovering in the world. Void looked at it wistfully.

“It was nice moving around with some seventh ranks. We didn’t need to be in charge of all the annoying stuff. Granted, that meant we weren’t fully striking out on our own either. Brother Hao Moon, will we go our separate ways if I enter seventh rank?”

“Probably,” Li Hao answered offhandedly. He took out his map and studied it, then looked ahead. “We go forward. If we’re fast, we’ll enter Dragon Region in eight or nine days. I envy those masters of dao. They can go anywhere they want in a split second if the dao universe reaches it...”

Seventh and eighth ranks already possessed fast speeds. They did not walk the chaos, but utilized the reach of their dao universes to instantly arrive at another locale. This also entailed certain risks at the same time. If someone spied into the precise location of the dao universe, they might be able to force their way inside.

Void ignored his friend as well and looked behind them.

Light... I might return home once I become a seventh rank.

Father, it may not be a good idea to set yourself against New Martial at this stage. I’ve met the Human King, Sword Sovereign, Li Zhu and conversed with them. They are a very strong group. As strong as Light is, we might not gain anything from a clash with New Martial.

They did not exchange further words. Two humans and one dog sped through the gloom of the chaos.

......

Ten days later.

Four seventh ranks abruptly poured out of Skyward, sending exalted emperors staking out the world in a panic. Was something about to happen??

However, the seventh ranks then vanished on the spot. There was no trace of them to be found.

No one dared go after them since these were formidable existences.

......

Seconds later.

The Skycloud master was the first to arrive on the scene. Skyward was empty. He gingerly set foot onto the world. It was so silent that it was as if it’d been annihilated. There wasn’t a single person in the world!

The Skycloud master stared dumbly at the empty world for a very long period of time. Everyone was gone?

Here he’d been, brainstorming how to break into Skycloud and kill the Silver Moon king. But the young man seemed to truly have killed two seventh ranks and seized Skyward just so that Void could silence it.

With that complete, the group of people promptly left.

The Light master quickly showed up again as well. He looked silently at the empty world and left without a glance for the Skycloud master.

The Skycloud master stared at the Light master’s departing back for a while. He smiled, looked at Skyward once more, then vanished with a shake of his head.

Skyward had not truly awakened. It lacked even dao foundation sites now. There was no point in remaining on this world before the dao universe revitalized.

Various other powerhouses probed the surroundings around Skyward to confirm that Silver Moon had indeed disappeared, and that the four seventh ranks had gone off on their business. It didn’t take long for someone to detect the Sword Sovereign’s movements. He was headed to Blazing Sun Region, most likely to convene with New Martial.

All eyes were suddenly on Blazing Sun Region.

As for Fog Mountain and the Orchid Forest master, they would not affect the bigger picture since they’d separated from the Sword Sovereign. They might be strong seventh ranks, but they were one person each.

Skyward was no longer the center of everyone’s attention. Those that possessed a Skyward dao star knew best of all if and when the dao universe would revitalize.

The most pressing concern for the moment was how to eliminate the great threat that was New Martial!
