Chapter 1587: Fighting the Ghosts and Gods Alone

Illuminating Sin was a headsman when he was still alive. He had beheaded 99,999 heinous criminals with his beheading saber. Sharp beyond measure, his beheading saber could behead anything, even the head of a ghost and god.

The sinfire covering the saber was a natural spiritual flame that took form after a heinous criminal was killed. It burned anyone bearing sin and karmic hindrance. The sinfire would never fade unless the victim’s sins and karmic hindrance were completely gone.

A human must possess sin and karmic hindrance so long as they existed in the red dust. Not even the Chief Libationist was an exception.

Therefore, the Chief Libationist let out a muffled grunt when he was enveloped by the sinfire. He seemed to be in so much pain that the fingers he used to catch the blade were loosening a little.

Illuminating Sin did not miss the opportunity, of course. He broke free from the Chief Libationist’s control, gripped his saber with both hands, and swung it at the Chief Libationist’s neck.

He was going to behead the man.

Thang!

However, a metallic clang resounded when the beheading saber that could behead anything made contact with the Chief Libationist’s neck. It managed to leave a faint imprint, but that was it. It could not push even an inch deeper.

“You’re not good enough to take my head yet.” As the Chief Libationist declared this, righteous qi pushed out and dispelled the sinfire enveloping his body. Then, he pressed his fingers together and drew a horizontal line in the air like they were a brush.

Illuminating Sin’s senses warned him of danger, so he did not hesitate to abandon his saber and retreat. At the same time, the sinfire enveloping his person formed a barrier in front of him.

However, the single line could not be stopped by anything. It easily cut through the raging sinfire and behead Illuminating Sin.

Illuminating Sin had beheaded countless people in his life. He never thought that he would be beheaded by another after he became a ghost and god.

Despite losing his head, Illuminating Sin wasn’t dead yet. So, the Chief Libationist tried to send him along his way.

This time, he drew a vertical line.

If the horizontal line split yin and yang, then the vertical line created heaven and earth.

Right before Illuminating Sin would be cleaved into two, a large amount of white flower petals suddenly rained from the sky. They slowly weaved a world of ice and trapped the vertical line in it.

Crack!

Although the vertical line easily cut the world of ice in half and turned the petals into dust, that slight delay was enough for Illuminating Sin to return to normal.

“You truly are extraordinary, Chief Libationist...” Sitting on top of three fierce tigers, Tyrant Extinction, lord of the Tyrant Extinction Abode of Absolute Yin, paid the Chief Libationist a compliment before the tattoos on his body squirmed like they were coming alive.

A Nether Phoenix unfolded its thousand-meter long wings and cast down yin fire that could scorch heaven and earth.

A nine-headed ghost hound leaped out of the Nether with the moon in its mouth.

A yin Buddha slowly walked toward the Chief Libationist while reciting a Buddhist sutra and creating a river of blood beneath his feet.

A ghost god whose nipples were his eyes, and bellybutton were his mouth let out an epic battle cry while wielding a great axe.

A massive evil ghost sewn from countless corpses and souls roared at the top of their lungs.

Ten thousand ghosts played the drum and gong while carrying a bronze coffin on their shoulders. Blood and fluid were seeping out of the coffin constantly.

......

For a time, all kinds of vicious and terrifying Strangers, ghost gods, and indescribable anomalies came to life and descended in the Nether.

This was Tyrant Extinction’s Magia. Every tattoo on his body had been made using a god demon’s blood and supplemented with various secret arts. They all possessed immense power. They could turn what was fake into a genuine thing and manifest the myriad phenomena of the Nether.

Despite this, the Chief Libationist wasn’t afraid in the slightest. He manifested a three-hundred-meter tall image of a Sage and threw himself into battle. He punched the nine heads of the nine-headed ghost hound into bits in one punch, eliciting a horrible whine from it. He then turned around, charged through a sea of fire, and grabbed the Nether Phoenix’s wings. With a mighty pull, he ripped the legendary bird into pieces.

While this was happening, the yin Buddha reached the Chief Libationist’s head and brought down his palm. It was a palm as big as the heavens and potent enough to suppress any ghost and god.

Unfortunately for him, the Chief Libationist wasn’t a ghost or a god. He was also greater. The Chief Libationist’s only response toward the descending palm of the Buddha was to stand as straight as a spear.

The Buddha’s hand was pierced by the Chief Libationist’s body, and as a loud guffaw resounded throughout the Nether, he closed the distance between himself and the Chief Libationist and gave him a taste of his own medicine. He landed a palm strike on the yin Buddha and shattered him into pieces.

Next, the Chief Libationist’s fist met a ghost god’s descending axe. After the axe was broken and before the ghost god could react, the Chief Libationist grabbed the ghost god’s arm, lifted him off his feet, and swung him in the direction of the army of ghosts carrying a coffin.

It was like a tiger in a den of sheep or a fox in a pen of chickens. The army of ghosts never stood a chance. They were smashed left, right and center by the Chief Libationist’s unwilling weapon.

It was at this moment a pair of slender arms reached out of the coffin. They were pale as snow, slender as willow, and flawless like they were carved out of white jade. One only needed to see the arms to know that the person was very, very beautiful.

In fact, she was. After all, the arms were carrying a head.

The face of the head was that of a woman. Her long, black hair looked like a waterfall, her eyebrows looked like distant mountains, her pupils looked like the sun and the moon, and her skin looked like congealed lard. She had a dainty nose and a small mouth as well. Everything about her was perfect like she was the heavens’ most perfect masterpiece.

However, the head was only a head. There wasn’t a body underneath it, only crimson threads. Held between the arms, the head’s beauty only made it look all the more evil and eerie.

Not only that, beads of blood were rolling off the woman’s cheeks like pearls. It made her look even more demonic and seductive.

“Come... come to me...” The woman’s vermillion lips parted, and she called out to the Chief Libationist softly.

Spirituality, mellowness, seductiveness, charm and more. The voice was like the combination of everything that was good about a person’s voice. It seemed capable of drawing out the softest part of a person’s heart, their expectations and their desires.

The Chief Libationist’s forceful momentum came to an abrupt halt after he heard her voice. His eyes looked befuddled and unfocused.

“Come on... come to me... come to me...”

As if he was bewitched, the Chief Libationist slowly made his way toward the woman. When he reached her, she wrapped her arms around his neck and slowly pulled him toward her coffin.

The coffin was filled with smelly blood and fluid, and countless red threads were squirming inside of it. They were as fine as ox hair, and they were wrapping many rotting bodies.

As the woman attempted to pull the Chief Libationist toward the coffin, signs of struggle appeared on the old scholar’s face.

“Get down, you!”

Tyrant Extinction appeared beside the Chief Libationist without a sound and put a hand on the Chief Libationist’s shoulder as he said this. It looked like he was planning to push him into the coffin.

It was at this moment the Chief Libationist suddenly turned around and grabbed Tyrant Extinction’s arm. He grinned widely as he taunted the ghost and god, “Idiot. Did you seriously thought that I would fall for such an ugly monster? I was waiting for you!”

Tyrant Extinction sensed danger the instant the Chief Libationist grabbed his arm. A Nether boat tattoo on his forehead immediately burst into light, and a small boat appeared underneath his feet. As the boat set sail, his silhouette suddenly grew transparent and illusory as if he was traveling toward some unknown shore.

A boat in the Nether was unfettered by age.
