He had both the power and the background. If he took Ye Qing’s side, then even the three sect masters must treat him seriously.

Fortunately, the Chief Libationist had stepped up and singlehandedly saved Chu from disaster. beaten back the Six Ghosts and Gods, repelled King Taishan, and seal off the Yellow Spring. He had singlehandedly saved Chu from collapse, foiled King Taishan’s conspiracy, and saved potentially billions from absolute disaster. Without exaggeration, he had saved the human world from turning into a living purgatory.

To put it simply, Chu had put all the blame on King Taishan and the current Fengdu, and pinned all the merits on the Chief Libationist. They had obfuscated just how big of a role Emperor Jing Run played in this near disaster and painted him as a victim, and diminished Ye Qing and Feng Qingyou’s importance in saving Chu as well.

The reason they did this was mainly to preserve the imperial court’s dignity and maintain the stability of Chu. Currently, Chu’s situation could be described as a straw house that was about to be blown away by a thunder storm. If the people found out that Emperor Jing Run was the one behind everything, then forget the rest of the world, the citizens of Chu themselves would loathe their own country and resent the imperial court. Some malicious schemers would absolutely seize the opportunity to stir up more trouble and plunge Chu into greater chaos.

Painting Emperor Jing Run and weakening his role in this incident made it so that the people’s focus and anger were directed at King Taishan and Fengdu. This saved everyone a lot of trouble.
