“What?” Haotian Hong, Yue Hanhai and Xuanyuan Wang blanched and nearly jumped to their feet when they heard this. “Are you certain about this?” Haotian Hong’s first instinct was to deny Ye Qing’s words. He subconsciously looked at the Chief Libationist.

“I was not present for the conversation, but I believe the boy’s words.”

The fact that the Chief Libationist was supporting Ye Qing indirectly proved that he was telling the truth.

Ye Qing continued, “For his own conspiracy and plan, King Taishan will spare no effort in hunting down the man who inherited the Earthly Sovereign’s will to slay the Four Evils, namely the wielder of the Earthly Sovereign Bell.”

“If I may ask, are you confident that you can handle King Taishan?” Once again, Haotian Hong, Yue Hanhai and Xuanyuan Wang fell into silence.

Who was King Taishan? He was a natural deity and an ancient one. He was a terrifying existence on the same level as the three sovereigns. “I thought you’re the one who killed the wisp of consciousness, Chief Libationist?” Yue Hanhai looked at the old scholar.

“Don’t look at me. It wasn’t me.” The Chief Libationist replied honestly, “That old bastard was a cunning one. He tricked me using a body double and went after the boy. By the time I reached the boy, King Taishan was already dead.”

Nothing the Chief Libationist said was false. He had simply hidden some critical information. Therefore, it wasn’t a lie. Right? Right!

Xuanyuan Wang looked puzzled. “But the rumors all say that you’re the one who killed King Taishan.”

“You said it yourself. They’re just rumors.” The Chief Libationist shrugged helplessly. “From the start, I only said that I repelled the Six Ghosts and Gods and repelled King Taishan. Never have I said that I killed the man. I can’t help it if people insist on misinterpreting my words.”

Haotian Hong, Yue Hanhai and Xuanyuan Wang exchanged glances with each other. It would seem that the Chief Libationist was not as honest as the stories claimed!

“Hmph.” Haotian Hong and Yue Hanhai were silent and wearing gloomy expressions. It wasn’t because they were affected by King Taishan’s power, but because they had lost face before a junior. This was something they could not tolerate.

Besides that, they strongly suspected that Ye Qing was the one who made King Taishan suddenly open his eyes. His goal was to humiliate them, of course. They didn’t have proof though.
