Chapter 1640: Sheep and Wolf
A moment later, Princess Royal Furi said, “She said she doesn’t hate you anymore.”
The man looked up at that, eyes glimmering like dazzling stars. “Really?”
Princess Royal Furi rolled her eyes at him. “You think I would lie to you about this?”
The man let out a laugh and drank all of his wine in one gulp. “That’s good enough for me.”
“So easily satisfied.” Princess Royal Furi harrumphed.
The man didn’t care. He was obviously delighted.
It was then he recalled something. “Oh right! How is that boy, Ye Qing?”
Princess Royal Furi asked in a meaningful tone while toying with her wine cup, “What are you planning?”
The man replied matter-of-factly, “I want to check if the boy deserves my daughter, of course.”
“Tsk tsk... planning to break up the couple already?” Princess Royal Furi teased him, “At least wait until after she acknowledges you, you hopeless man!”
The man declared confidently, “She will.”
“You sure are confident.” Princess Royal Furi chuckled. “The boy’s pretty good though. He’s strong, and he has a sense of responsibility and duty. Yes, he’s pretty good.”
“Really? Why didn’t I notice?” The man countered. “On the contrary, I think he’s a troublemaker. He stirs up trouble wherever he goes.”
“He’s still far from being a good match for my daughter! Hmph...”

“You’re back.”
On a peak, Ye Qng was admiring a boundless white world covered in ice and snow when suddenly, he sensed something and looked behind his back.
“Mm. I’m back.”
Feng Qingyou gave him a small smile that was as pure and flawless as the world.
“Alright. Let us depart then.” Ye Qing did not prod her about her conversation with Princess Royal Furi, nor did he ask about the powerful presence that appeared afterward. He simply waved his sleeve and summoned a piece of paper.
The paper kept folding itself as it fell toward the ground. It quickly transformed into a horse carriage. The horse carriage abruptly grew much larger after it landed and transformed into a plain yet elegant and lifelike horse carriage in the blink of an eye.
“Magia: Cutting Paper Into People”
“I shall be your driver today, Miss Feng. This way please.” Ye Qing waved toward the entrance while wearing a smile on his face.
Feng Qingyou smiled back and calmly entered the horse carriage.
Ye Qing sat on the shaft of the horse carriage and gave the reins a shake. A pair of handsome white horses immediately let out neighs and shot into the air, cutting a straight line across the endless land of snow.
The Snow Region—also known as the Northmost Snow Region—was said to have one hundred thousand snowy lands and mountains. It implied that the Northmost Snow Region was endlessly vast with meandering mountains that were covered in eternal ice and snow.
The Northmost Snow Region was extremely dangerous. Besides a treacherous environment, powerful Strangers, and unpredictable Anomalies, the region was infested with snow bandits, Dark Ways practitioners and more. They were all deadly.
Ye Qing’s horse carriage hadn’t even traveled fifty kilometers, and already he sensed over a dozen energies spying on them. Some of them were probing, and some were filled with malice. They were all powerful.
No one was acting on their desires though. It was because they hadn’t yet figured out the passengers’ strength.
No one who managed to survive the harsh environment of the Northmost Snow Region was a brainless idiot or a reckless fool after all. They were all careful and cunning people. They wouldn’t make a move until they figured out how strong Ye Qing and Feng Qingyou were.
“It doesn’t look like your ploy is working. They are not coming after us.” Feng Qingyou teased Ye Qing from inside the horse carriage.
“Patience. Fishing takes patience, you know?” Ye Qing said smilingly and meaningfully, “Besides, they’re not fishes. They are wolves. Greedy, cunning wolves and hyenas.”
“They cannot resist the allure of the meat though. They will fall into my trap eventually.”
Feng Qingyou smiled. “I look forward to it.”
At the same time, on the snowy lands underneath the horse carriage, people were interacting with each other via their spirits as well. They were all staring at the horse carriage with greed and promises of violence.
“A fat sheep has stepped into your territory, Snow Wolf. Why are you staying your hand?” A man asked with a smile that didn’t reach the eye. “It’s obvious from the carriage’s glow that it’s some sort of treasure. The owner must be rich, noble, or both. You won’t find a fatter prey than this!”
“If the sheep is so fat, why aren’t you moving then, Old Ghost?” A young man with dark, bluish eyes and an evil, brutal face asked coldly.
“I’m not interested. I just filled my belly two days ago, and I haven’t fully digested my meal yet. You can have this one.”
Old Ghost was a ghastly man wearing a black robe. His face was invisible. When he said, “I just filled my belly two days ago,” he meant it literally. After all, there was nothing Old Ghost loved more than feeding on one’s heart and soul.
Snow Wolf ignored him, so Old Ghost continued, “Whoever’s in the carriage must be a clueless greenhorn. They wouldn’t dare to fly in the Snow Region and challenge the Wind Tsunami otherwise. If you don’t act soon, then the meat in your mouth is going to be stolen by another.”
“Do you seriously think we don’t know what you’re doing, Old Ghost?” A man boasting a powerful aura and carrying a broken saber taunted, “You want us to go first so you can play the fisherman afterward, right?”
Old Ghost shook his head and lamented with a sorrowful expression, “How can you say that, Beheader? The sun and moon as my witness, you cannot find another person with a more bleeding heart than me!”
“Haha... do you even have a heart, Old Ghost?” A small head wearing a pair of sprouts[1] crawled out of the snow. His laughter was young, and his attire was childish like that of a five-year-old boy. His face was wrinkly and covered in liver spots though. The contrast was terrifying.
“Child Boss! You’re here!” Old Ghost did not take offense to Child Boss’ taunts at all. Still smiling, he asked, “Are you interested in the people in the carriage as well?”
Child Boss replied smilingly, “Of course. Would you like the honor of being the vanguard, Old Ghost?”
“Me?” Old Ghost chuckled. “I already said I’m not interested. I shan’t be getting involved this time.”
Snow Wolf asked coldly, “Then why are you here?” Old Ghost replied, “To enjoy the show, of course.”
“Look! The Wind Tsunami is here. Tsk tsk, the driver and its passenger are going to have a field day...”
Old Ghost had just finished when the wind in the sky suddenly swelled in intensity and ferocity. It blew up so much ice and snow on the mountains that it looked like a gigantic curtain spanning dozens of kilometers was blotting out the sky. Because it looked like a titanic, crushing tsunami of the sea, the people came to call it the Wind Tsunami.
The Wind Tsunami was one of the worst disasters in the Northmost Snow Region, and this was just a small one. A big scale Wind Tsunami could span thousands of kilometers and destroy everything in its path. It was scary to say the least.
Even veteran survivors of the Northmost Snow Region like them were very much afraid of the Wind Tsunami.
But of course, they were only afraid of large scale Wind Tsunamis. A small Wind Tsunami like this one was not a threat to them.
That was why Old Ghost, Snow Wolf, Beheader and Child Boss did not try to get out of its way.
“I told you it’s a greenhorn.”
Old Ghost suddenly broke into a wide grin. It was because the horse carriage in the air hurriedly turned around and tried to outrun the Wind Tsunami. It was a foolish attempt though. It took no time for the Wind Tsunami to catch up to it and engulf it.
An ordinary Strange Artifact might have been ripped to shreds in just the blink of an eye, but the horse carriage glowed bright and resisted its influence. Although it could not get away from the Wind Tsunami, it was unharmed and intact.
