Chapter 1409 - Raid on the Headquarters

“It’s about time. I can start my counterattack!”

Chen Fan stood on a mountain peak, looking in the direction of the Hua Alliance’s headquarters. They were his first target because he was kind enough to prioritize fellow disciples.

In a strange place like this ancient realm, they should be helping one another, yet the Hua Alliance was blatantly hunting him. That’s why he hated them even more than Gai Huang and the Apex Mystic Alliance. This situation was perfect for a little tit for tat.

He had no intention of sparing a single one of them.

As for the Hua Alliance’s overall strength, he had already investigated it thoroughly.

He had spent close to a year being hunted inside the ancient realm. And that gave him enough time to travel, see the world, and... learn about the various forces inside the ancient realm.

The Hua Alliance could only be considered a mid-tier force in the ancient realm, and they wouldn’t be at the top even in the mid-tier.

Their leader, their strongest, was Qin Chuan, only in the sixth-stage half-immortal realm. Qin Chuan also happened to be Hua Yunxiao’s devoted follower. Rumors said that he was from a great household; in the Featherlight Sect, an Immortal Emperor behemoth looked favorably upon him.

By all logic, such a pride of heaven should have never become a lackey, yet, paradoxically, he was Hua Yunxiao’s most loyal follower.

In addition to Qin Chuan, the alliance also included the Four Guardian Deities, all of whom were fifth-stage half-immortals.

The alliance also had the Nine Great Generals and numerous minions. The Nine Great Generals were also half-immortals, but their cultivation levels varied. The strongest among them was only in the fourth stage. The minions were all mere Void Immortals.

Not everyone in the Hua Alliance was from the Featherlight Sect. They had recruits from all over, which made them a serious force—easily twice as strong as the Eclipse Alliance.

If Chen Fan hadn’t just broken through that made his strength soar, storming their headquarters would’ve been suicide. Thankfully, he had absorbed and refined the Blood Primeval Fruit’s energy. Now his cultivation was at the peak of the late-stage Void Immortal realm, and his combat strength was at the seventh-stage half-immortal realm.

Decision made, he kicked off the ground and shot toward Hua City like a thunderbolt. His destination was the Hua Alliance’s base: Hua City.

The alliance, of course, had no clue. To them, Chen Fan was still prey. If he showed up at Hua City, it would be like lighting a lamp in an outhouse; he’d only be looking for shit. In their minds, even sparing their full force was already a kindness.

Hua City was more than twice the size of Eclipse City. They had a larger population and more experts. In this bustling city, one could even see half-immortals roaming. And even they wouldn’t dare cause trouble here, as nobody wanted trouble under the shadow of the Hua Alliance.

Their headquarters sat in the city lord’s mansion, prime real estate in the heart of Hua City. That’s exactly where Chen Fan was headed, cutting through the sky without a pause.

For the people below, the sight was hardly unusual.

Hua City never slept. People streamed in and out, and the Hua Alliance’s headquarters teemed with experts.

Usually, the Hua Alliance’s experts would form groups to roam the lands, searching for opportunities and treasures. Recently, they’d been returning in succession.

The sky was completely clear, without a cloud in sight. Suddenly, it turned overcast. An oppressive aura shrouded the entire city lord’s mansion.

A loud roar came from the mansion almost instantly.

“Who goes there?”

The weakest inside were Void Immortal experts, and there were at least ten half-immortals. They sensed the changes in heaven and earth almost instantly, like dark clouds were pressing down on the city, threatening to crush it.

Suddenly, a brilliant light shone in the sky, obscuring it. The intense light made it impossible for the people to open their eyes.

The light revealed itself as a ten-thousand-foot streak of sword light, ripping the air as it hurtled toward its target with a deafening cacophony.

Clang!

Rumble!

The air exploded by the inch under the sword of light, setting off deafening, thunderous booms.

Boom!

The sword collided with the city’s defenses, sending explosions rippling through the sky. Thunder boomed, and the air itself seemed to shatter under the strike.

Chchch.

Boom, boom, boom!

Layer after layer of the city lord’s barrier tore apart, more than ten gone in an instant, as if fine china against a hammer. Only the final layer held, cracking but refusing to break.

Rumble!

Ultimately, the attack dissipated after producing a crack in the final layer.

Hmph

!” A cold snort rang out. Several terrifying attacks blasted out from within the barrier, blowing the sword of light into pieces.

Then, several powerful experts flitted out. Leading the group was a fifth-stage half-immortal. He was one of the Four Guardian Deities of the Hua Alliance: the Earth Guardian Deity. Other than him, there were also a few members of the Nine Great Generals, including someone Chen Fan knew well: Ye Kuang.

Behind them stood dozens of Void Immortals. They all rushed out with ferocious momentum, their expressions fierce.

“Who is it? Who dares to attack our headquarters? You must be tired of living!” shouted the Earth Guardian Deity coldly, scanning his surroundings.

The Hua Alliance wasn’t the top dog in the ancient realm, but they weren’t pushovers either. Nobody provoked them lightly.

Then, a golden figure appeared in the void. Ye Kuang’s eyes went wide.

“Chen Fan, it’s you!” His face twisted with rage. “Not hiding like a rat, huh? Showing yourself in front of us? You’re courting death!”

He never thought that the attacker would be Chen Fan. He had come to Hua City on his own; it was simply a suicidal move.

“Like a rat?” Chen Fan sneered coldly upon hearing this. “The ones who should be hiding like rats are you! Today, I’m settling scores.”

“What arrogance!” roared a fourth-stage half-immortal. He charged out of the barrier and rushed toward Chen Fan. “A mere Void Immortal dares to spout such drivel. Since you’ve come here, forget leaving alive!”

He opened his hands, summoning a prison-like strike from the sky, aiming to crush Chen Fan on the spot.
